Discursive Strategies in Style Guides Negotiation on GitHub

چکیده
This article examines the discursive strategies at play in style guide negotiation on GitHub. Looking three popular guides for JavaScript language—Standard, Airbnb, Prettier—, we highlight how source code, executable networks of communities and platform affordances are used as arguments their own adoption modification theoretically immutable documents. Through discourse analysis, show programmers display multifaceted practices a social context work, modulated by technical platforms programming languages.
